The interior designer Rocío Moreno

A portrait of the decorator next to textiles of his line.

The India-Andalusia connection is vibrant in this house full of goblins from the coast of Cadiz. Its owner, the decorator and designer Rocío Moreno, has displayed the joy and color of the two lands that feed her soul.

The tastes and the most personal experiences are evident in the interiors of this apartment located in an urbanization of Sotogrande, in San Roque (Cádiz). It is located in a building designed by Olalquiaga Arquitectos and in its luminous spaces lives the decorator Rocío Moreno, founder of the Meridiana stores and creator of an exquisite line of silk fabrics. In the house, which retains the original distribution, we tried to give fluidity to the environments and achieve a clear and optimistic atmosphere that would make day to day very comfortable. The result adds, in addition, a placid feeling of harmony that is allied with the bright light of Cadiz.

To the pieces of furniture made in the West with materials – wood or metal – from China or India are added others that, conversely, have been made in Asia, but under the European prism of the designs designed by Meridiana. Another plus deco is the contribution of color, as Rocío Moreno tells us: «I have dispensed with any prejudice when applying it. It reflects my personal style and also the philosophy that encourages me in the store and in the creation of textiles. ” Collections of fabrics that have received numerous awards and succeed in Paris and London. Not in vain do they decorate the Louis Vuitton establishments, from New York to Seoul, Tokyo or Los Angeles. Here, undoubtedly, they are a success in alliance with the vintage furniture, the current elements of industrial cutting and the unforgettable memories of hidden places and admired cultures.
